Parent/Guardian Information Meeting For New Families

Please save Thursday, February 19th at 6:30PM

Cafeteria at Hopewell Middle School

Parents/Guardians of new athletes interested in Cambridge Junior Cheer are required to attend the in-person information meeting. This meeting helps new families to learn all about the program and the requirements for participation.

Returning families do not need to attend.

Tryout Clinics and Evaluations will be held at ATA during the week of March 9.

For clinic days and the evaluation, athletes should wear: plain white tshirt (no logos and not a tank top), navy blue athletic shorts (no Nike Pros or other booty shorts), white-no-show socks, white cheer/athletic shoes, hair in a high pony tail with a plain white bow.  A bow is available for purchase during registration and will be handed out at the athlete's clinic day.

Bring a no-spill water bottle.

For safety reasons, during the tryout process and during the cheer season:
No jewelry of any kind may be worn: no rings, no necklaces, no earrings, no bracelets.  This includes permanent jewelry.  Nails must be natural with no tips, false nails, or embellishments and trimmed to the tips.  (Only neutral or CHS-colors nail polish is permitted during the season.)
 

April 21 Uniform Fitting
@ Hopewell Middle School in the Cafeteria

Each grade is assigned a specific timeslot:
6pm: 6th Grade Squad
7pm: 7th Grade and 8th Grade Squad

Arrive at 5:30pm if you are interested in resell items.

Changing rooms will not be available.  All athletes must wear a sports bra and bike shorts to facilitate trying on apparel for proper sizing.  All athletes are sized for the annual player pack.  Reminder that all new athletes must purchase a uniform--returning athletes may reuse the 2024 season uniform. 

Tuesday, May 5 Competition Team Practices Begin
The team will practice May 5, 12, and 19 from 5-6:30pm at ATA.
Attendance at practices is mandatory.

Tuesday, June 2 Competition Team Begins Summer Practice Schedule
Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-5pm at ATA.
Attendance at summer practices is mandatory.

Athletes will wear the designated practice attire from the player pack at each practice, along with white-no-show socks and white cheer shoes.  Hair must be in a pony tail with a white bow or a CJC bow.  Natural, trimmed nails (no tips!). No jewelry of any kind.

Wednesday, June 3 Sideline Summer Practices Begin
Summer practices are every Wednesday.
Attendance at summer practices is mandatory.
Practice is held 3-4:30PM @ ATA.

Athletes wear white tank top with navy athletic shorts (no Nike Pros or other booty shorts). Once the practice wear is distributed, athletes will wear the designated practice attire from the player pack at each practice.  Hair to be worn in a low pony tail with the CJC practice bow. 

No jewelry of any kind may be worn: no rings, no necklaces, no earrings, no bracelets.  This includes permanent jewelry.  Nails must be natural with no tips, false nails, or embellishments and trimmed to the tips.  (Only neutral or CHS-colors nail polish is permitted during the season.)

Athletes wear black tank top with black athletic shorts (no Nike Pros or other booty shorts). Hair in a pony tail with CJC bow or white bow. Cheer shoes with no show-white socks. Natural, trimmed nails (no tips!). No jewelry of any kind.  Please bring a snack and no-spill water bottle.

8th grade CJC athletes work as Junior Coaches alongside Cambridge High School JV and Varsity athletes to help run the camp that is for pre-K to 5th graders.

Tickets are required to attend.  Anyone in eighth grade or below must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.  Chaperone’s can watch up to 4 unrelated children. 

Tickets are $5 at the gate.
